The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanzo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hanzo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Barbalic avoids the body shot from Hanzo.
Hanzo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Barbalic avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Barbalic misses with a few strikes there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanzo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hanzo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Barbalic is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hanzo wants to control the pace but Barbalic is squirming around nicely.

Hanzo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Barbalic holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hanzo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Barbalic is looking to improve his position but Hanzo isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanzo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barbalic's face.

Hanzo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Barbalic can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Barbalic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Hanzo is going olschool here, as he tries to force Barbalic to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Barbalic shrugs it off.
The referee warns Barbalic that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Barbalic is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hanzo tries to control but Barbalic wriggling away.
Barbalic sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Barbalic wants to control but Hanzo is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hanzo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Barbalic looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Barbalic has a closed guard, preventing Hanzo from standing up.
Hanzo wants to control from the top but Barbalic keeps moving.

Barbalic trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanzo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hanzo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Hanzo is trying to break the clinch but Barbalic is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hanzo moves in looking to clinch but Barbalic pushes him off.

Barbalic swats away the attempt to clinch by Hanzo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kato Hanzo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hanzo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barbalic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barbalic throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Nikola Barbalic is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hanzo drops his hands momentarily and Barbalic takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Hanzo blocks the body kick.
Hanzo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Barbalic swats away the attempt to clinch by Hanzo.
Nikola Barbalic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hanzo is rocked!
Barbalic flashes Hanzo a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Hanzo's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Hanzo crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Barbalic punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
