Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raker Raif (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Dover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dover has chosen All I have to give as his entrance music. Ben Dover is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raker Raif!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Dover!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raif cracks a nice hook into Dover's ribs.

Dover clinches up with Raif and pushes him back against the cage.
Dover lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Dover is pushing Raif up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Dover misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Raif drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dover stops a takedown attempt from Raif.
Dover has Raif pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Raif manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dover manages to pull guard.

Raif knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dover on the ground.
Raif tries to free his leg and advance position but Dover is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raif wanted to stand there but Dover had control of the position.

Dover tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Raif tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Dover.
Dover gets back to full guard.
Raif trying to control but Dover is working from the bottom.

Dover looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dover has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Raif can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dover looks gassed!

Raif stays in close to Dover's body and controls the position.

Dover had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Raif defends it easily.
Raif in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Raif is looking to stand up but Dover won't let him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Raif is really struggling to control Dover but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Raif stalling away here and it's allowed Dover to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Dover is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Raif is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Raker Raif will probably get the nod.

Raif darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Raif is taking a breather. Dover says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Raif will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Raker Raif just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Dover looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Raif is fending him off so far but Dover persists. Nope, Raif circles away and we're back to standing.

Raif has Dover up against the cage in a clinch.
Dover jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Raif walks away with a smile on his face. Dover gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Raif drives through and clinches with Dover against the cage.
Raif is pressed up against the cage. Dover has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Raif down to the mat. Raif avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Raker Raif has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Dover.
Dover has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dover there as he acknowledges the shot.
Raif tries to clinch but Dover is having none of it.
Dover fails with the takedown
and Raif counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Dover is breathing heavily.

Raif misses with a takedown attempt

and Dover counters by clinching up.
Raif blocks a body shot from Dover.
Dover swings wildly with an uppercut but Raif uses good head movement to avoid it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Raif.
Raif misses with an elbow strike.
Raif goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dover prevents it.
Dover goes for a takedown in the clinch but Raif prevents it.
Raif drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dover pulls his leg out and moves away.
Raif throws a series of strikes that have Dover backpedaling.

Dover rushes Raif and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Raif digs a right hand underneath Dover's ribcage. Dover let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Dover misses with some punches.
Dover tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Raif looking for a takedown.
Raif prevents the takedown attempt.
Raif lands a shoulder strike.

Raif has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dover regains guard immediately.

Raif wants to control from the top but Dover keeps moving.
Dover preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Raif controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dover not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dover is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Dover wants to control but Raif postures up.
Dover parries the strikes from Raif easily there. Raif is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dover to escape.

Raif decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Raif fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dover, pushing him back against the cage.
Raif drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Raif jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dover walks away with a smile on his face. Raif gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Raif lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Raif darts in and clinches Dover up against the cage.
Raif has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dover is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Raif lands a nice shot to the body.
Raif gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dover.
Raif is trying to break free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dover wants a takedown.
Raif is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Raif lands with a light punch inside.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dover pulls guard.
Dover controls Raif momentarily but Raif frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raker Raif dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Raif shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dover's guard.

Dover is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Raif defends well.

Dover has his foot on Raif's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Raif works his way back into a safe position though.
Raif is looking to stand up but Dover won't let him.
Raker Raif overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Raif stays in close to Dover's body and controls the position.

Dover is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Raif is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Raif is keen to just control but Dover is a slippery customer.

Raif is looking to take a break and control but Dover is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dover is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Raif wants to work for an arm triangle but Dover is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dover darts in trying to clinch

and Raif counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Raif.
Raif can't get the takedown.
Dover goes for a takedown attempt but Raif pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Dover drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Raif gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dover is trying to trip Raif. He has hold of a leg but Raif is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dover persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dover postures up in Raif's guard and throws a big left but Raif blocks it.

Raif pushes Dover off and gets back to his feet.
Dover throws a head kick that misses.

so Raif counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ben Dover has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dover is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Raif pulls his head out easily.
Raif is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Raif is looking to take a break and control but Dover is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Raker Raif is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Raif has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
