The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasconcelos looks to land a combination. Petrov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hugo Vasconcelos just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Petrov needs to keep his hands up - Vasconcelos had a free shot at his head there.
Petrov walks straight into a right hand from Vasconcelos - that's dropped him! Vasconcelos jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Petrov from any more punishment! Petrov complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
