PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Lank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Magno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lank comes into the arena with The Night blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magno throws a series of punches but Lank moves out of range.
Lank keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck for Lank with that takedown attempt.
Magno loads up on a big right hand but Lank slips the punch.

Lank shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Magno napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Magno is trying to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Magno tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Magno is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lank off and has taken his back!

Magno is looking for a rear naked choke here but Lank reverses the position brilliantly into Magno's guard!

Magno isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lank stacks Magno on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lank!

Magno is looking for a sweep.

Lank stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Lank ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lank shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lank was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Magno is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lank is landing with some decent strikes but Magno is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Magno wants to hit a switch here but Lank passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Magno there!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lank is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Magno throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lank is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lank shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Magno pinned against the cage. Magno gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Magno tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lank was well out of range. Poor timing from Magno.

Lank closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Magno did well to prevent Lank getting side control.
Magno should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lank shoots for a double leg takedown but Magno sprawls well. He's pushed Lank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lank shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Magno is trying to defend but Lank finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lank connects with a nice short shot to Magno's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ethan Lank will probably get the nod.

Magno gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lank to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lank, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
