Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akira Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr Francoise Petit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakurai comes to the cage accompanied by Pride FC Theme. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dr Francoise Petit!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sakurai is fending him off so far but Petit persists. Nope, Sakurai circles away and we're back to standing.
Sakurai misses with a two punch combination.

Petit cracks Sakurai with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sakurai looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Petit finish him?

It looks like Akira Sakurai has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Petit.
Sakurai thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sakurai uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Petit.
Sakurai takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Petit throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Petit sends Sakurai crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Petit is motioning to the referee to let Sakurai up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Sakurai is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A right-left combo lands from Sakurai.
Oh Sakurai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big right from Petit misses.
Sakurai seems to have got his legs back now.
Sakurai fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Petit ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sakurai moves away.
Petit walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sakurai defending well as Petit loads up on a big left hand.
Petit lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sakurai throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Petit ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Sakurai's jaw. Sakurai's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Petit does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dr Francoise Petit!
