Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Demian Almeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshiro Kitase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Demian Almeida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshiro Kitase!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kitase tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kitase fails to pull guard.
Almeida using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kitase has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kitase tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Almeida smiles and moves away.
Demian Almeida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenshiro Kitase.
Almeida is looking to clinch.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Almeida tries to clinch but Kitase is having none of it.

Kitase tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Almeida smiles and moves away.

Kitase drops down looking for an ankle pick but Almeida pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kitase shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Kitase closes the distance and clinches.
Kitase looking to throw knees to the head but Almeida is blocking nicely.
Almeida misses with a knee to the head.
Almeida is trying to maintain a safe position but Kitase gets an underhook and turns Almeida into the cage.
Almeida misses with a knee to the head.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Almeida just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kitase's brow.
Almeida tries to score a body lock takedown but Kitase shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kitase jumps guard.

Kitase looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kitase is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kitase is looking for a triangle but Almeida pushes his legs off easily.

Kitase looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Almeida passes into side control.

Almeida tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Almeida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kitase can't do much from the bottom here.

Almeida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kitase has escaped the position, nice work there.

That was a close round but I would say that Demian Almeida will probably get the nod.

Kitase clinches but Almeida breaks the clinch

and Almeida counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Almeida.

Kitase has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Almeida uses from the top position.

Kitase working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Almeida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Almeida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Almeida thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kitase looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Almeida puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Kitase is staying active underneath Almeida, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Almeida looks to clinch

and Kitase counters by clinching up.
Almeida throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kitase blocks it with crossed arms.
Almeida tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Almeida tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Kitase jumps guard and drags Almeida to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kitase has his foot on Almeida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Almeida works his way back into a safe position though.

Kitase has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Almeida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kitase is working an open guard so Almeida takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Kitase counters with a single leg into guard. Almeida didn't expect that.

Kenshiro Kitase showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Almeida shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kitase sprawls well. Kitase wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Almeida gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kitase advances position into side control!
Almeida wants to control but Kitase postures up.
Almeida stops Kitase from passing to mount.
Almeida is not content to let Kitase control the position.
Almeida wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kitase moves into the clinch.
Almeida throws a knee to the head but misses.

Kitase successfully pulls guard.
Kitase controls Almeida momentarily but Almeida frees himself.

Kitase had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Almeida defends it easily.

Kitase is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Almeida defends well.

Kitase keeping moving, preventing Almeida from controlling successfully.
Almeida stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kitase swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Almeida got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kitase has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Almeida has managed to get both his arms back between Kitase's legs - danger averted.

Kitase looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Almeida is defending well. Kitase quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Almeida has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kitase celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
