PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Shagson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Resina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Resina has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Jonas Resina acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shagson lands a lovely overhand right.

Resina shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Resina showed some decent athleticism there.
Resina stops Shagson from getting back to his feet.
Shagson is looking to get back to is feet but Resina passes into side control.
Shagson is trying to get back to his feet.
Shagson parries the strikes from Resina easily there. Resina is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shagson to escape.
Shagson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Resina has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Resina decides to stand back up. Resina steps back and let's Shagson get back to his feet.
Shagson has a takedown stuffed.
Shagson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Jonas Resina has been cut.
Shagson lands with an uppercut that bounces Resina off the cage and back into rage.
Resina looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shagson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shagson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Shagson lands a left and a right that send Resina crashing to the mat, dazed. Shagson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Resina is rocked!

Resina looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shagson lands with a big left! Resina is wobbled badly! Shagson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Resina to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
