The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Castro gets the takedown into side control.
Smith is looking to reverse the position.
Smith gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Castro is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!
Castro jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Castro thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castro stands up and beckons Smith to join him on the feet.
Smith dives in and grabs Castro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castro pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

Castro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith counters by moving into the clinch.
Castro lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Castro moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Castro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Smith looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Castro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

and Smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Castro's guard now.

Castro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.

Redof Castro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Castro is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Castro extends an breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Castro.
