The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aaquist scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Aaquist wants to land a leg kick but Slim is out of range.
Erik Aaquist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aaquist jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Aaquist cracks Slim with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Aaquist tries a head kick but it misses.
Aaquist throws a right and a left that both miss.
Aaquist lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Aaquist fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aaquist rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slim moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Aaquist will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Aaquist stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aaquist wants it to stay on the feet.
A punch combination from Aaquist misses.
Aaquist is looking to chop away at Slim's legs.
Aaquist throws a chopping leg kick but Slim manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Slim rushes Aaquist and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Aaquist pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aaquist pivots, looking for a leg kick but Slim is out of range and Aaquist settles back down.

Slim gets the takedown into side control.
Slim wants to control but Aaquist is keeping him busy.

Slim misses with the ground and pound.

Slim has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Aaquist is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Slim yanks on the arm and Aaquist is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Slim.
