The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown throws a left that rocks Zaitsev and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Brown dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Zaitsev regain composure!

It looks like Vassili Zaitsev has been cut.

Brown has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Brown will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Zaitsev pushes Brown up against the cage in a clinch.

Brown breaks from the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brown swings for the body but Zaitsev moves out of range.
Zaitsev shoots for a takedown but Brown saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Brown, as that shot connected.
No joy there for Brown, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brown misses with a hook.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brown scores with a nice strike.
Brown throws a series of punches but Zaitsev avoids them all with ease.
Zaitsev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Zaitsev persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.
Brown moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Brown lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zaitsev circles away quickly and effectively.
Zaitsev shoots in for a double leg but Brown sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zaitsev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Zaitsev. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Zaitsev wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance.

Zaitsev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zaitsev is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Brown.

Brown scores with a crisp jab that stopped Zaitsev in his tracks.
Ryan Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zaitsev is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brown cracks Zaitsev with a big right hand and Zaitsev goes down!
Oh Zaitsev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brown slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Brown sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zaitsev's guard.
Zaitsev blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brown.
Zaitsev seems to have got his legs back now.
Zaitsev is not content to let Brown control the position.
Zaitsev flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Brown postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Zaitsev to stand up.

Brown defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zaitsev.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zaitsev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zaitsev tries to clinch up.
Brown throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brown has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Brown might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Zaitsev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Brown wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A left lands for Brown.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It's a brutal combination of punches from Brown! Zaitsev is backing up but he can't get away as Brown lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Zaitsev and ends the fight. Great knockout.
