Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gengis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durham comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Unstoppable by Roy Jones jr. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gengis Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Durham.
Khan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Khan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Khan sizes up Durham with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Khan stalks Durham and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Durham's face. Durham staggers backwards, shaken.

Khan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Khan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Khan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Durham has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khan has managed to get both his arms back between Durham's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durham has his foot on Khan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khan works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Khan trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Khan throws a right and a left that Durham avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Khan throws a series of strikes that have Durham backpedaling.
Gengis Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Durham has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Khan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Durham.
