Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mahiko Mahitato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mahitato comes into the arena with tokyo drift - teriyaki boys blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahitato tries to clinch but James is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mahitato tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Mahitato drops back down to his feet.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
James tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mahitato tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

James decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mahitato is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mahitato swivels and escapes.

The referee is keeping an eye on James - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
With the fighters up against the cage, Mahitato throws an elbow but misses.

Mahitato has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mahitato gets control of James's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mahitato will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
James wants to control from the top but Mahitato keeps moving.
Mahitato can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James passes easily into side control. Nice work.

James has an Americana. Mahitato didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! James is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if James hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
