PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between tony shahing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Brook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). shahing comes to the cage accompanied by I get up again. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, tony shahing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donny Brook!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Brook. No joy for shahing on that attempt.
Brook tries to clinch up.
Brook misses with a low kick.
Horrible takedown by shahing or perhaps it was just good defense by Brook which made him look bad.
Brook fakes a jab and throws a low kick but shahing checks it well.
Brook tries to clinch up but shahing circles away and keeps his distance.
Brook throws a hook to the side of shahing's head but shahing sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
shahing takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Good standup being displayed there by Brook as he connects with a hook.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from shahing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tony shahing. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brook misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Brook lands a left and a right that send shahing crashing to the mat, dazed. Brook thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Brook wants to get up but he can't break shahing's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

shahing had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Brook is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. shahing Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Brook's back instead.
A lull in the action here.

Brook is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if shahing gets his way!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that tony shahing will probably get the nod.

Brook stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. shahing swivels though and keeps the full guard.

shahing is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brook rolls with it to try and escape but shahing cranks on the arm and Brook is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
