Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Astro Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomi Bobusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomi Bobusto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Astro Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomi Bobusto!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Boy.
Bobusto is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Boy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bobusto keeps working.
Boy lands a decent elbow from side control.
Boy in side control, throwing shots but Bobusto defends.
Boy working away.
Bobusto is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Boy lands a few punches from side control.
Bobusto wants to get back to his feet but Boy drags him back down.

Boy is putting a hurting on Bobusto here, landing some big shots from side control.
Bobusto is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boy connects with a nice short shot to Bobusto's temple.

Boy is nestled in close to Bobusto, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bobusto tries to kick Boy off but Boy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Boy lands a nice short elbow.

Boy thows a huge punch but Bobusto dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bobusto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bobusto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bobusto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bobusto throws a big right hand that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Boy dives in and grabs Bobusto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bobusto pushes down on Boy's head and hops out.
Boy slaps away a takedown attempt from Bobusto, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bobusto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boy pinned against the cage. Boy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Boy tries to keep at a distance but Bobusto has taken the fight into the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Astro Boy dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bobusto kicks Boy off and gets back to his feet.

Boy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bobusto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Boy scores with a couple of nice shots.

Boy stands up and beckons Bobusto to join him on the feet.
Bobusto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boy sprawls well. Boy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bobusto gets slowly back to his feet.

so Bobusto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bobusto wants to pass the guard but Boy is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bobusto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bobusto has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Bobusto wants to take Boy's back but he can't do it this time.
Boy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boy tries to get out of the position.

Bobusto is working for a guillotine from mount but Boy frees his head quite easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A close second round but Tomi Bobusto will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bobusto is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Bobusto extends the arm and Boy is forced to tap!
