The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves cracks Rua with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Maurico Rua has been cut.
Alves doesn't manage to clinch there - Rua circles away.
Rua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rua is rocked!
Alves wants to clinch.
Rua closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alves to the mat! Alves manages to get full guard.
