Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Owen Christy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jari Koivusalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen Christy had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jari Koivusalo enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christy tries to clinch but Koivusalo moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Christy. No joy for Koivusalo on that attempt.

Koivusalo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Christy off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Christy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Christy wanted to stand there but Koivusalo had control of the position.

Christy is fighting to break Koivusalo's control of his arms but Koivusalo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Christy is looking to work some ground and pound but Koivusalo has wrist control.

Christy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Koivusalo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Christy has managed to get both his arms back between Koivusalo's legs - danger averted.
Christy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Christy is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Koivusalo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Christy is looking to defend but Koivusalo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Christy! Koivusalo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Christy taps out and this one is all over!
