Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rasor Schwager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Wood acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Wood!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Schwager.
Wood misses with a series of wild punches.
Schwager looks for the body kick but Wood saw that one coming.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wood.
Wood swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Wood breaks the clinch.
Wood lands with an uppercut that bounces Schwager off the cage and back into rage.

Wood has Schwager up against the cage in a clinch.
Wood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schwager walks away with a smile on his face. Wood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wood tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Schwager connects with a jab.
Wood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schwager moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wood throws a nice head kick!

Schwager shoots in and bounces Wood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wood looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Schwager trying to control the position from guard on top but Wood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wood wants to stand but Schwager is controlling the position.
Wood has a closed guard, preventing Schwager from standing up.

Wood throws his legs up looking for a submission but Schwager uses it to pass to side control.

Wood looks for a takedown but Schwager sprawls well.
Rasor Schwager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Wood.
Wood shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schwager pinned against the cage. Schwager gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Schwager looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Wood stalks Schwager and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Schwager's face. Schwager staggers backwards, shaken.

Wood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Schwager, pushing him back against the cage.
Wood comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Wood tries to land a knee to the head but Schwager blocks with his arms.

Wood breaks from the clinch.

Wood instigates a clinch.
Schwager wants to get back to striking at distance but Wood won't allow it.

Wood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wood closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wood decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schwager with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wood is trying to control. Schwager wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Wood prevents Schwager from standing back up.

Wood thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Schwager is trying to control but can't.
Wood takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Wood working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wood is looking to slow Schwager down with leg kicks.

Wood drives through and clinches with Schwager against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jab, jab by Wood - just one landing.
Wood swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Schwager.
Schwager fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Wood will probably get the nod.

Wood lands a head kick. Schwager smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Schwager shoots for a takedown but Wood saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Wood gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schwager sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wood somewhat.

Schwager is looking to stand up but Wood isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schwager bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Schwager content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Wood takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Schwager is looking to take a break and control but Wood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Schwager is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Wood can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wood connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Schwager leaves Wood with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Wood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wood throws a right hand that Schwager ducks under and follows up with a left that Schwager also avoids with ease.

Wood closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schwager did well to prevent Wood getting side control.

Wood isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Schwager stacks Wood on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Schwager!

Schwager lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Schwager tries to score with some ground and pound. Wood controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Wood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schwager. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wood tries to escape but Schwager is in control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rasor Schwager.
I think Wood has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
