The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Xenos shoots for a takedown but Masato saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Masato stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Masato wants it to stay on the feet.

Xenos feints and as Masato raises his hands in defense, Xenos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Xenos drops back looking for a leg! Masato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masato manages to kick Xenos off! Xenos jumps back into Masato's guard.

Xenos shoots for a takedown but Masato saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Xenos moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Masato has worked his arm free - good work by Masato!

Xenos trying to control the position but Masato is working away.
Xenos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Masato kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Xenos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Masato knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Masato sneaks out the side door and pushes Xenos away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
