Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koala Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Spoilin For A Fight . Koala Bear will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Koala Bear!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bear connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mir misses with a series of wild punches.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bear!


It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Bear keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Bear changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mir looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mir tries to improve position but can't.
Mir is not content to let Bear control the position.

Bear tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bear has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mir wants to control the pace but Bear is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Bear wants to hold on but Mir pushes him away.

Bear has left one of his arms exposed and Mir doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bear screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
