Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Fenili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenili comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome Home (Sanitarium). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pencil drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Pencil has gone for a leg lock! Fenili slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pencil's guard.
Fenili trying to control the position from guard on top but Pencil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pencil working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fenili doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fenili manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pencil has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fenili can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pencil manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Pencil is working for a guillotine from mount but Fenili frees his head quite easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fenili is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pencil misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Pencil tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pencil throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Fenili because Pencil loaded up on that one.

Pencil jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Fenili is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Fenili and Pencil has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
