The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith slips a jab from Sotiar.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Sotiar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Sotiar lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. Sotiar thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Smith is rocked!

It looks like Sam Smith has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sotiar is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Sotiar circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Sotiar finish him?
A good leg kick by Sotiar.
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sotiar as he avoids it easily.
Mark Sotiar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Smith.

Sotiar missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Sotiar scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one.

Sotiar cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Sotiar has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Smith to stand back up!
Sotiar fakes the body blow, causing Smith to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Smith goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
