Rex has chosen Through The Fire And Flames by Dragonforce as his entrance music. Patrick Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson Rex!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith scores with a hook to the body. Rex takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Smith punishes Rex's body with a nice straight punch.
Rex slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rex moves away.
Smith lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Rex fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Rex persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith is looking for a sweep. Rex is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Smith slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rex changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Rex manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rex. Rex circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smith punishes Rex's body with a nice straight punch.

Rex throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Rex finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rex!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rex fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Rex shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Rex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tyson Rex has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
