Kelltonville kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Holding Out For A Hero. Noah Smithers has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Toberticus Kelltonville's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toberticus Kelltonville!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noah Smithers!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smithers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kelltonville napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kelltonville managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Smithers.
Smithers working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Kelltonville regains half guard, as Smithers was trying to land strikes.
Kelltonville keeping control of the position.
Smithers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Smithers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kelltonville is holding on to half guard well.
Kelltonville wants to get back to full guard.
Kelltonville has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smithers is working away from the top position though.

Smithers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelltonville wants to sweep here but Smithers controlling him for the moment.
Smithers with a flurry of punches that miss.
Smithers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kelltonville works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kelltonville throws a nice looking combination but Smithers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smithers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kelltonville tries to avoid it but Smithers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kelltonville to the ground. Kelltonville escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smithers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kelltonville is controlling him.
Kelltonville stands and throws Smithers's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kelltonville goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smithers has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kelltonville but great work by Smithers.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kelltonville regains half guard.
Smithers throwing shots but Kelltonville is blocking nicely.
Kelltonville is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smithers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smithers's back!

Kelltonville is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Smithers has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Smithers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kelltonville gets his way!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Toberticus Kelltonville has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noah Smithers.
Kelltonville tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kelltonville moves to back control.
Kelltonville looking to hold on to the position here but Smithers rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kelltonville stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smithers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kelltonville is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smithers defends it well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smithers can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kelltonville seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smithers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Smithers won't allow Kelltonville to pass to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kelltonville is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Kelltonville is working for a kimura but Smithers is defending it quite comfortably.
Smithers tries to kick Kelltonville off but Kelltonville keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kelltonville seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kelltonville is looking to advance position but Smithers won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Kelltonville counters with a nice body shot.
Smithers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kelltonville lands with a kick to the temple. Smithers shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

A left and a right from Kelltonville both land. Nice combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smithers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Whack! Kelltonville lands a heavy head kick that drops Smithers. The ref tackles Kelltonville to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Smithers was done.
