Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Dykemiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bobby durang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). durang has chosen Not Afraid-eminem as his entrance music. bobby durang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Dykemiller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dykemiller shoots in for a takedown but durang shows good takedown defense.
durang dives in and grabs Dykemiller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dykemiller pushes down on durang's head and hops out.
Dykemiller will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
durang drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
durang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dykemiller is looking for a sweep.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
durang wants to control but Dykemiller is keeping him busy.

Dykemiller manages to get back to half guard.
Dykemiller is trying to maintain the position but durang is very close to passing his half guard.

Dykemiller is not content to let durang control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dykemiller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dykemiller perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dykemiller is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dykemiller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

durang wants to control but Dykemiller is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dykemiller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down durang for as long as he can get away with.

Dykemiller feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dykemiller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dykemiller lands in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dykemiller wants to stand but durang has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

durang controls Dykemiller momentarily but Dykemiller frees himself.
Dykemiller wanted to stand there but durang had control of the position.

Dykemiller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dykemiller's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Dykemiller is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dykemiller.
Dykemiller throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
durang steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dykemiller.
Dykemiller scores with a takedown into durang's guard.
Dykemiller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. durang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dykemiller is stalling in the full guard.

durang is trying to escape the position but Dykemiller is controlling the position.
Dykemiller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dykemiller decides to stand up, so the ref orders durang to his feet.

Dykemiller throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dykemiller tries to score a power double leg takedown but durang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dykemiller somewhat.

durang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dykemiller paws at him with a jab and circles away.
durang takes one to the chin there.
Dykemiller throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dykemiller misses with a takedown attempt - durang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dykemiller uses his free foot to push down on durang's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for durang.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Derrick Dykemiller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dykemiller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
