Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mathew maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Augusto comes to the cage accompanied by adu-kein scherz. maynard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. do it kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fernando Augusto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
maynard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Augusto was well out of range. Poor timing from maynard.

Augusto shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
maynard tries to get to full guard but Augusto has control of the leg.
maynard is pressing down on Augusto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
maynard tries to land a sweep but no joy.

maynard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
maynard wants to sweep but no luck.
Augusto looking to pass the guard.

maynard has his foot on Augusto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Augusto works his way back into a safe position though.

maynard throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Augusto escapes and throws maynard's legs to the side, diving into side control!
maynard looks gassed!
maynard tries to buck Augusto off but Augusto is having none of it.
maynard regains half guard.

Augusto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so maynard is just riding it out for now. Augusto eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
