The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walford shoots in for a takedown but Edwards shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Edwards drops back looking for a leg! Walford is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walford manages to kick Edwards off! Edwards jumps back into Walford's guard.

Edwards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Edwards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Edwards avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Walford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edwards doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edwards manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Edwards drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walford manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Edwards has Walford in his guard.

Edwards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Walford passes Edwards's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Walford lands a nice short elbow.
Walford will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
