PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between American Spirit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Manevski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spirit misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Manevski clinches with his opponent.

Spirit breaks the clinch.
Spirit shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Manevski defends it nicely.
A combination from Spirit does no damage.
Manevski thuds his right hand into Spirit's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Spirit shoots in for a takedown but Manevski shows good takedown defense.

Manevski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spirit manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Manevski is pressing down on Spirit's thigh, looking to free his foot. Spirit is holding on for now.
Spirit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Manevski is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Spirit tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Manevski manages to move to mount!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Spirit wants to hold on but Manevski pushes him away.
Manevski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Manevski lands a heavy elbow.

Manevski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Spirit can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Manevski lands a big shot there that rocks Spirit but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spirit wants to try and get back to his feet.
Spirit takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Spirit tries to lock up and control but Manevski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Spirit fails to land with a series of punches.

Manevski moves into range and clinches up with Spirit.
Spirit wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Manevski has him pressed against the cage.

Manevski is working an open guard so Spirit takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Spirit will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Spirit tries to break free but Manevski pushes him back against the cage.

Manevski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Manevski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spirit was covering up waiting for the punch and Manevski finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Spirit is wriggling around but Manevski manages to pass to half guard.
Spirit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Manevski on the ground.
Well, if Manevski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Manevski is looking to take a break and control but Spirit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Manevski tries to move into full mount but can't pass Spirit's legs.

Manevski has an Americana. Spirit didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Manevski is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Manevski hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
