PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Bungur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Dang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bungur kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is wanderlei intro. Eric Dang will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Bungur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Dang!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dang leaves Bungur with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dang scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A punch combination from Dang misses.
Dang blocks a jab.
Dang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dang tests Bungur's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Bungur shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Bungur working for a guillotine from mount but Dang is in no mood to give up.

Bungur looking for a guillotine from mount but Dang is having none of it.

Bungur wants to finish this one by submission but Dang is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bungur.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dang can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bungur won't let Dang get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bungur is working for a guillotine from mount but Dang frees his head quite easily.

Bungur working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bungur will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bungur is breathing heavily.

Bungur goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dang is on top in guard.

Bungur had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dang defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dang wanted to stand there but Bungur had control of the position.

Bungur is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dang is aware though and is defending well.
Dang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bungur. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dang is looking to stand up but Bungur won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bungur has an active guard here but Dang has managed to pass into half guard.

Bungur is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dang pulls his head out easily.

Bungur looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dang lands a nice shot that snaps Bungur's head back.
A left lands for Dang.
Dang moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Dang lands a left and a right that send Bungur crashing to the mat, dazed. Dang thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Bungur is rocked!
Bungur is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oh Bungur is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dang lands with a straight right. Bungur didn't see that one coming.
Dang connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Bungur tumbling to the canvas! Dang pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Bungur was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Eric Dang!
