Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Baraja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Bakunin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Bakunin!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baraja fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bakunin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bakunin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bakunin manages to end up in side control.

Baraja seems a little lost for a moment, as Bakunin dominates the positioning.

Baraja closes the distance and clinches up with Bakunin, looking for a takedown. Baraja pushes Bakunin against the cage but Bakunin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Baraja. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fernando Baraja will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Baraja or perhaps it was just good defense by Bakunin which made him look bad.

Bakunin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
