PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Sinatra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nai Khanom Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom has chosen Shut your mouth as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Sinatra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nai Khanom Tom!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Tom or perhaps it was just good defense by Sinatra which made him look bad.
Tom tries to land a leg kick but Sinatra saw it coming and moves away.
Tom is looking to clinch but Sinatra is avoiding it.
Tom misses with a double jab.
Sinatra throws a looping overhand right but Tom ducks down to avoid it.

Sinatra scores with a takedown into Tom's guard.
Sinatra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tom is keeping the position for now.
Tom keeping moving, preventing Sinatra from controlling successfully.
Sinatra trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sinatra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tom with a poor takedown
and Sinatra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sinatra slips under a jab from Tom.
Tom throws a head kick but Sinatra moves out of range.
Tom wants to clinch but Sinatra slips to the side

and Sinatra counters by clinching up.
Sinatra's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Sinatra for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Sinatra breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tom takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Sinatra closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tom.

Sinatra's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tom closes the distance but Sinatra moves to the side
and Sinatra counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Sinatra bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Sinatra thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sinatra tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sinatra is looking to take a break and control but Tom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee asks Sinatra politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sinatra prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tom wants to get back to his feet.

Sinatra has hold of Tom's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tom seems comfortable defending it but Sinatra has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tom is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tom is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sinatra couldn't care less - he's delighted!
