PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mac Lovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lovin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Legend Of Zelda. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maddox shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maddox showed some decent athleticism there.
Lovin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Maddox thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lovin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lovin wants to sweep here but Maddox controlling him for the moment.

Lovin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maddox defends well.

Maddox is looking for a triangle but Lovin pushes his legs off easily.

Lovin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maddox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lovin has managed to get both his arms back between Maddox's legs - danger averted.

Lovin is looking for a sweep. Maddox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lovin pushes Maddox off and gets back to his feet.
Maddox scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Maddox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lovin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maddox somewhat.

Maddox fails with a takedown attempt.
Maddox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lovin but Lovin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mac Lovin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Maddox.
Lovin wants to clinch up but Maddox keeps it at a distance.
Lovin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maddox paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lovin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Maddox postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lovin looks a forlorn figure.

Lovin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maddox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maddox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lovin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
