Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krk Mrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krk Mrd will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Couture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krk Mrd!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mrd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Couture pinned against the cage. Couture gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mrd shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Mrd working for a guillotine from mount but Couture is in no mood to give up.
Couture throwing hammer fists to the chest of Mrd. What's that going to do exactly?
Couture on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Couture tries to get out of the position.
Couture sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture lands with a few short shots to the body.

Mrd is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mrd is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Couture has managed to free his arm - good work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mrd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Couture as he jumps to the side.
Couture stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Couture wants it to stay on the feet.
Randy Couture has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krk Mrd.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Couture shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Couture winds up and cracks Mrd with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Couture looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mrd with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Couture lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Couture takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Couture is nestled in close to Mrd, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Couture working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mrd is in trouble now - Couture has advanced to mount!

You get the feeling that Mrd really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Couture pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Couture is landing with some decent strikes but Mrd is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Couture prevents Mrd from getting the reversal.
Mrd is bucking up trying to escape but Couture cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mrd tries to reverse the position but Couture maintains control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Couture shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mrd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Randy Couture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Couture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mrd works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mrd looking for subs off his back but Couture has passed one foot through into half guard.
Couture winds up and cracks Mrd with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Couture seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Couture connects with a nice short shot to Mrd's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mrd blocking the ground and pound attempt from Couture.
Mrd has hold of Couture's hands but Couture slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Couture throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mrd is trying to stand back up but Couture is controlling him

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mrd gets caught flat footed, as Couture shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mrd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mrd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Couture defends it easily.

Mrd has his foot on Couture's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Couture works his way back into a safe position though.
Mrd is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mrd is trying to work for a kimura but Couture is defending well.
Couture throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Couture flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Couture lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

and Couture decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mrd's guard.

Mrd is looking for a kimura but Couture is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mrd to get the leverage.

Couture misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Mrd maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Couture could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mrd has cracked it and Couture is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mrd!
