Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes comes to the cage accompanied by Hard To See. Kong has chosen Faint as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like King Kong has been cut.
Hughes tries to clinch there but Kong circles away.
Hughes throws a series of punches but Kong avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Hughes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kong has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kong.
Kong is working Hughes over against the cage.

Kong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kong showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hughes.
Hughes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kong.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horrible takedown by Hughes or perhaps it was just good defense by Kong which made him look bad.

Kong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hughes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kong drops back looking for a leg! Hughes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hughes manages to kick Kong off! Kong jumps back into Hughes's guard.

Hughes wants to get back to his feet but Kong is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes has momentary wrist control but Kong slips an elbow through the middle.

Hughes wants to stand and escape but Kong is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kong has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hughes uses from the top position.
Kong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kong looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Kong breaks from Hughes's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hughes is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Hughes really wants to buck Kong off and get back to his feet.
Kong lands with some strikes.
Kong landing punches.
Kong is landing with some decent strikes but Hughes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Kong landing strikes from the mount and Hughes is in trouble!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kong cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Hughes is rocked!
King Kong has got the better of the ground game so far.

Oh Hughes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hughes's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kong postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Hughes badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Kong around the waist but Kong pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Kong is the winner by TKO! Kong jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Kong!
