Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Myeloid Leuk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leuk keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hunt.
Hunt tries to land a front kick but Leuk steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Leuk throws a quick inside leg kick.
Leuk shoots in for a double leg but Hunt sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hunt just misses with a punch to the body.
Leuk throws a series of strikes that have Hunt backpedaling.
Hunt doesn't manage to clinch there - Leuk circles away.
Leuk shoots for a takedown but Hunt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Leuk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leuk lands in his opponent's guard.
Leuk has gone for a leg lock! Hunt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Leuk's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Leuk has a closed guard, preventing Hunt from standing up.
Hunt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Leuk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hunt has managed to get both his arms back between Leuk's legs - danger averted.
Leuk working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hunt has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leuk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leuk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hunt wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Leuk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Leuk is breathing heavily.
Leuk looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Hunt pushes past his half guard into mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunt get's back to his feet.
Leuk slips under a jab from Hunt.
Hunt getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Hunt lands a jab-cross combination.
Leuk has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hunt finds it's way round the side to connect with Leuk's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunt lands a left and a right that send Leuk crashing to the mat, dazed. Hunt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Leuk is rocked!
Look low, kick high! Hunt uses the oldest trick in the book to send Leuk tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Hunt is absolutely delighted - when Leuk wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mike Hunt!
