Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Repe Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Repe Sorsa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Murphy!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorsa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murphy as he avoids it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Murphy.
Sorsa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sorsa moves into the clinch.

Sorsa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sorsa misses with the combination.
John Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Murphy feints and as Sorsa raises his hands in defense, Murphy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Murphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Sorsa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sorsa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Murphy defends it easily.
Murphy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sorsa is keeping the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murphy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Sorsa looking to control.

Sorsa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murphy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murphy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sorsa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sorsa has a closed guard, preventing Murphy from standing up.

Sorsa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sorsa wants to sweep but no luck.
Murphy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorsa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sorsa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Murphy throwing strikes from guard but Sorsa blocks nicely.
Murphy wants to control from the top but Sorsa keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sorsa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sorsa keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.
Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Sorsa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sorsa won't allow Murphy to sweep him here.
Murphy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sorsa puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Sorsa is pressing down on Murphy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Murphy is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Murphy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sorsa to the mat! Sorsa manages to get full guard.
Murphy throwing strikes from guard but Sorsa blocks nicely.
Murphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Sorsa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sorsa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murphy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sorsa kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Murphy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Murphy lying in Sorsa's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Sorsa decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Murphy taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
