Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harrison Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Hughes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harrison Moore!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hughes scores with a takedown into Moore's guard.

Moore throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hughes is stalling in the full guard.
Hughes wanted to stand there but Moore had control of the position.
Hughes throws a big right hand that misses.
Hughes trying to control but Moore is working from the bottom.
Hughes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hughes slips nicely into half guard.
Hughes trying to pass the guard but Moore defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hughes tries for a takedown but Moore sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hughes gets the takedown into side control.
Moore is trying to get back to half guard.
Moore is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Moore looks gassed!
Hughes lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Moore down.

Hughes tries for a kimura but Moore is defending well.

Hughes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moore, who protects the arm well.
Hughes throws an elbow but Moore slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moore gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Moore wants to control but Hughes is keeping busy.
Moore missing with punches from the bottom.
Hughes trying to control from half guard but Moore is working away.
Moore tries to roll over but Hughes keeps him under control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Moore checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hughes fails with the takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Moore shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Moore showed some decent athleticism there.
Hughes trying to control from the bottom.

Moore looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hughes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Moore's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Moore's back!
Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Moore defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hughes's arms.

Hughes is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Moore is defending well though. Hughes let's go of the attempt for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hughes working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Hughes is persistently looking for the submission but Moore is defending it well.

Moore is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hughes.
Hughes tries to get the hooks in deep but Moore pushed the leg off.

Hughes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Moore has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hughes lands punches and elbows.
Hughes lands a shot to the head.
Hughes controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Hughes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hughes fails with the takedown

and Moore counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hughes won't be happy with that.

Hughes sneaks back into half guard.
Hughes works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hughes throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hughes wants to sweep but no luck.

Hughes had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Moore is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hughes Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Moore's back instead.
Hughes doesn't have the hooks in and Moore manages to turn into his guard.
Moore throwing strikes from guard but Hughes blocks nicely.
Hughes is trying to keep Moore in close.
Hughes looking for a sweep. Not yet Hughes, not yet.

Moore drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moore jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hughes!
Hughes misses with a takedown

and Moore holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hughes gets underhooks to prevent Moore's takedown attempt.
Hughes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Moore just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Moore turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Hughes regains half guard.
Hughes wants to control but Moore is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Moore seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hughes is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Harrison Moore!
