Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Vortex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Adrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vortex kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Run This Town - Jay-z. Adrian has chosen Bed Rock as his entrance music. Anthony Vortex has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adrian decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vortex is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, if Adrian is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Vortex is refusing to be controlled, as Adrian sits in half guard.

Adrian looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Adrian prevents Vortex from improving his position.
Adrian thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vortex's head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Adrian not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Adrian looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vortex is controlling Adrian's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Adrian takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Donk. Adrian catches Vortex right on the button with a cross.

Adrian throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vortex was covering up waiting for the punch and Adrian finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vortex preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Vortex tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Adrian slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Adrian throwing strikes but missing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Adrian trying to control the position from guard on top but Vortex is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Adrian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Adrian moves in looking to clinch but Vortex pushes him off.
Adrian shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vortex defends it nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vortex misses with a takedown attempt

and Adrian counters with a takedown into side control.
Vortex parries the strikes from Adrian easily there. Adrian is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vortex to escape.
Vortex is looking for a sweep.

Adrian stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Adrian closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Adrian lands in his opponent's guard.

Vortex gets caught flat footed, as Adrian shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vortex is looking to sweep but instead, Adrian has passed into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Adrian in particular looking to stall.

Vortex trying to hold on to Adrian's head to control him but Adrian postures up.
Adrian is taking a breather. Vortex says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Adrian tries to pass to full mount but Vortex defends it.
Adrian is looking to pass Vortex's guard but actually Vortex recovers to full guard.

Brandon Adrian is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Adrian has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
