The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mikhailov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stevenson throws a jab but it's blocked by Mikhailov.
Stevenson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Mikhailov takes the fight into the clinch.

Mikhailov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stevenson misses with an uppercut.
Stevenson throws the left hand but Mikhailov avoids the punch easily.
Stevenson throws a hook to the side of Mikhailov's head but Mikhailov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mikhailov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stevenson.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mikhailov is looking to clinch.

Mikhailov clinches up with Stevenson and pushes him back against the cage.
Stevenson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Stevenson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Stevenson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mikhailov breaks from the clinch.
Stevenson misses with a looping right.
Stevenson throws out a loose jab but Mikhailov uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mikhailov gets a clinch.
Mikhailov blocks a body shot from Stevenson.
Stevenson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Mikhailov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stevenson misses with a looping left.
Mikhailov scores with a decent looking hook.

Mikhailov takes the fight into the clinch.

The fighters circling - Stevenson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stevenson misses with a straight right.
Stevenson looks to land a left hand but Mikhailov moved out of range nicely.
Stevenson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Mikhailov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Alek Mikhailov has been cut.

Stevenson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mikhailov manages to break the clinch.
Stevenson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A punch lands to the side of Stevenson 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Mikhailov gets a clinch.
Stevenson is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevenson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Mikhailov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mikhailov scores with the left hand. Stevenson knows he should have avoided that one.
Mikhailov lands a jab.

Stevenson is still on wobbly legs! Can Mikhailov finish him?
Mikhailov sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Stevenson's defenses. It connects perfectly with Stevenson's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alek Mikhailov!
