Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ken Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Monsoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Penn!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Penn misses with a knee to the head.
Penn lands an elbow just above Monsoon 's eye.

Penn breaks the clinch.
Monsoon tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Penn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Penn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Monsoon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penn on the ground.
Monsoon trying to control here.
Monsoon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Penn lands with a punch from half guard.
Monsoon won't allow Penn to pass to mount.

Penn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Monsoon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Penn.
Penn missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn is trying to control the action in half guard but Monsoon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Penn in particular looking to stall.

Penn is working for a kimura but Monsoon is defending it quite comfortably.
Monsoon is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Monsoon wants to control but Penn is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Monsoon is trying to stand back up but Penn is controlling him
Monsoon is looking to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Monsoon.
Penn looks gassed!
Penn is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Monsoon off and has taken his back!
Monsoon tries to roll but Penn sticks to his back.

Penn working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Monsoon is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Penn has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Monsoon taps out!
