Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Murvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Villa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronald Murvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Villa!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Murvis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Villa shoots in for a takedown but Murvis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Murvis.
Villa moves in looking to clinch but Murvis pushes him off.
Murvis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Villa throws a head kick but Murvis moves out of range.
A jab from Villa misses.
Murvis misses with a straight right.
Villa moves in looking to clinch but Murvis pushes him off.
Murvis lands a left and a right that send Villa crashing to the mat, dazed. Murvis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Villa fails in his attempt to clinch.
Murvis rushes Villa and presses him up against the cage.
Villa pushes Murvis back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Villa keeps control of Murvis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Murvis wants the takedown. Villa is fighting it off but Murvis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Villa's guard against the cage.
Villa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Villa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Murvis is looking to stand up but Villa won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Murvis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Villa looking for a sweep. Not yet Villa, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murvis tries to stand but Villa is controlling from the bottom.
Murvis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Villa wants to clinch but Murvis slips to the side
and Murvis counters by clinching up.
Villa working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Murvis tries to break free but Villa pushes him back against the cage.
Villa manages to break the clinch.
Villa fails with an attempt to clinch.
A jab lands there for Murvis.
Murvis misses with a wild combination.
Villa closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murvis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Villa keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Murvis's efforts to push away.
Murvis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Villa tries to clinch up but Murvis circles away and keeps his distance.
Villa takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Murvis drops Villa with a beautiful combination! Villa stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Murvis is looking for the KO!
Villa is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Murvis grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Villa takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Murvis cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ronald Murvis!
