PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between bounty dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dog comes into the arena with I Love Preshcool blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, bounty dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eduardo Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dog lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sosa circles away quickly and effectively.
dog moves in looking to clinch but Sosa pushes him off.
dog fails with an attempt to clinch.

dog throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sosa was covering up waiting for the punch and dog finishes the takedown easily into guard.

dog drops back looking for a leg! Sosa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sosa manages to kick dog off! dog jumps back into Sosa's guard.
Sosa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sosa is keen to just control but dog is a slippery customer.

Sosa tries to pass the half guard into mount. dog knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
dog regains full guard. Nicely done.

dog wants to sweep but no luck.

dog pushes Sosa off and gets back to his feet.
dog misses with an uppercut.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sosa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

dog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sosa is trying to control dog's posture but dog avoids it.

dog stands up.

dog shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sosa is trying to defend but dog finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sosa gets full guard.

Sosa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but dog can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sosa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
dog wants to pass the guard but Sosa is keeping the position.
dog with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sosa keeping moving, preventing dog from controlling successfully.
dog has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

dog stands and steps away. Sosa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

dog gets the takedown into side control.
dog is breathing heavily.
Sosa tries to buck dog off but dog is having none of it.
Sosa sneaks back into half guard.

Sosa is trying to control but dog passes into side control!

dog working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Sosa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Sosa wants to control but dog is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sosa is trying to control but dog manages to pass to mount!
dog tries to control but Sosa wriggling away.

dog looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Sosa tries to reverse the position but dog maintains control.

Sosa is squirming around, avoiding dog's attempts to control the action.
dog pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Sosa is bucking up trying to escape but dog cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

dog jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sosa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sosa tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but dog presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Sosa regains half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

dog decides to take the fight back to the feet.

dog gets the takedown into side control.
dog in side control lands a decent elbow.
Sosa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sosa stops dog from passing to mount.

Sosa tries to bench press dog off him but dog keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Sosa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

dog tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sosa tries to improve position but can't.

Sosa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
dog has a takedown stuffed.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sosa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sosa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sosa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in dog's guard.
dog keeping moving, preventing Sosa from controlling successfully.
dog is looking to sweep but instead, Sosa has passed into half guard.
Sosa stops dog from getting back to his feet.
dog tries to get to full guard but Sosa has control of the leg.
dog makes his way to full guard. A much better position for dog.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sosa advances position into side control!
dog bucks up and tries to throw Sosa off but instead Sosa has got his back!
Sosa trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
dog tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
dog is working hard here to advance position.
Sosa wants to control the position but dog frees himself and scrambles - Sosa manages to regain control in side control.

dog sneaks out the side door and pushes Sosa away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
bounty dog is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
bounty dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sosa misses with a takedown

and dog counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
dog content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

dog is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sosa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
dog is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
dog wants to control from the top but Sosa keeps moving.
Sosa looking to control.
dog is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sosa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

dog stands and steps away. Sosa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Eduardo Sosa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

dog shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than dog was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

And that's the end of the fight!
bounty dog showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for dog, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
