PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ishi Kiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLovin has chosen "Gimme Some Lovin" by the Spencer Davis Group as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLovin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kiki cracks McLovin with a right hand to the side of the head.
McLovin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kiki finds it's way round the side to connect with McLovin's head.

Kiki scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kiki wants to free his trapped foot but McLovin is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McLovin gets back to full guard.
Kiki passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kiki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McLovin, who protects the arm well.

Kiki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
McLovin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kiki.

Kiki jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Kiki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McLovin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kiki is breathing heavily.

Kiki decides to stand back up.
McLovin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kiki.

McLovin shoots in but no luck this time.
Ishi Kiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad McLovin.

and McLovin counters with a single leg into guard. Kiki didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kiki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McLovin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kiki has his foot on McLovin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLovin works his way back into a safe position though.
Kiki wants to stand up but McLovin is controlling him.

McLovin looks to land a combination but Kiki avoids it well.

Kiki is working for a kimura but McLovin is defending it quite comfortably.
It looks like Kiki is going to stand back up.
Kiki is keen to just control but McLovin is a slippery customer.

McLovin is refusing to be controlled, as Kiki sits in half guard.
Kiki is looking to advance position but McLovin won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kiki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McLovin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kiki.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McLovin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kiki's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kiki duly obliges.

McLovin is rocked!

It looks like Chad McLovin has been cut.
Kiki closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops McLovin! Kiki dives in looking to finish! McLovin is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
