PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Mueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximo Meridio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meridio has chosen O Fortuna - Carl Orff as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mueller moves out of range as Meridio strikes.
Mueller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mueller tries a head kick but it misses.
Mueller tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mueller misses with a takedown attempt - Meridio sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Mueller counters with a shoot takedown. Meridio fights it but they end up in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meridio is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meridio holds on to Mueller as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Meridio is trying desperately to improve position.
Meridio bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mueller is trying to control Meridio's posture but Meridio avoids it.

Meridio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mueller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
