Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shrimp Barby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and trent heskett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barby shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. heskett defends it nicely.
trent heskett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
heskett doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Barby counters with a single leg into guard. heskett didn't expect that.

Barby tries to free his leg and advance position but heskett is retaining full guard.
heskett is looking to stand up but Barby isn't so interested in that idea.

Barby is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Barby seems to be working for a kimura but heskett defends the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Barby is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. heskett doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barby .
Barby is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so heskett is just riding it out for now. Barby eventually gives up the hold.

Barby wants to pass the guard but heskett is defending well.
heskett is trying to control but Barby passes into side control!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Barby goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, heskett has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Barby but great work by heskett.

heskett is looking to stall here but Barby recovers full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Barby counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Barby is looking to advance position but heskett has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
heskett moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Barby has worked his arm free - good work by Barby !
Barby could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
heskett swings around for an armbar but Barby sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into heskett's guard.

heskett looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Barby passes into half guard.
Barby wants to pass the guard but heskett is defending well.

Barby works his foot free and advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Barby wants to take heskett's back here but heskett is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Barby moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, heskett has worked his arm free - good work by heskett!
Barby swings around for an armbar but heskett sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Barby 's guard.

heskett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Barby keeping moving, preventing heskett from controlling successfully.
heskett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barby swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barby is looking for a triangle but heskett pushes his legs off easily.
heskett throws and elbow that misses. Barby uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in heskett's guard. Nice move by Barby !

heskett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

heskett kicks Barby off and gets back to his feet.

and heskett counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

heskett seems to be looking for submissions.
Barby is not content to let heskett control the position.

heskett working over Barby with some ground and pound. Barby looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
heskett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barby is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but heskett pulls his head out easily.
heskett is stalling here. Barby is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! heskett seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Barby has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Barby has hold of heskett's arm. He's looking for a kimura. heskett seems comfortable defending it but Barby has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! heskett is real pain and he's forced to tap out! heskett is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Barby couldn't care less - he's delighted!
