Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Astro Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Sully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Sully has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Astro Boy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Astro Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Sully!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sully feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sully trying to control but Boy is working from the bottom.
Sully pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boy is keeping the position for now.

Sully drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boy!

Boy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Boy is breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Sully's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sully is looking to reverse the position.

Boy stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sully gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sully lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Sully closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boy to the mat! Boy manages to get full guard.

Boy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Sully manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Sully has hold of Boy's hands but Boy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sully is looking to improve his position.
Boy slips a nice elbow through Sully's hands, connecting with Sully's forehead.

Boy looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Sully is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Boy scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sully pushes Boy off looking to stand but Boy dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Boy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boy lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Boy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Boy won't allow Sully to get back to his feet.
Sully wants to sweep here but Boy controlling him for the moment.

and Sully counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sully.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jake Sully will probably get the nod.
That's time! Boy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Boy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sully was covering up waiting for the punch and Boy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sully can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boy postures up in Sully's guard and throws a big left but Sully blocks it.

Sully has his feet on Boy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Boy is looking to take a break and control but Sully is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Boy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sully some visible discomfort.
Boy creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sully tries to clinch up but Boy circles away and keeps his distance.

Boy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sully is trying to maintain the position but Boy is very close to passing his half guard.

Boy leaves Sully with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sully with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boy connects with a nice short shot to Sully's temple.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sully throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sully fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boy avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Boy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
BOOM! Boy connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that's the end of the fight!
Astro Boy showed his dominance in that final round.
