The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hughs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wiet dodges the punch combination from Hughs.
A head kick misses from Hughs.
Wiet tries to clinch up.
Hughs throws a sloppy head kick and Wiet moves out of range easily.

Hughs lands a big head kick that sends Wiet tumbling to the mat! Hughs takes a step backwards and waves Wiet back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wiet is rocked!

It looks like Mike Wiet has been cut.
Wiet ducks under a wild hook from Hughs.
Some bone on bone action there as Wiet checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Wiet moves out of range as Hughs throws a body kick.
Joe Hughs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wiet manages to avoid it.
Hughs throws a head kick but Wiet moves out of range.

Wiet tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hughs keeps the fight on the outside.
Wiet avoids the head kick by Hughs.
Hughs tries to land a front kick but Wiet steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wiet wants to clinch up but Hughs keeps it at a distance.
Wiet checks a leg kick.
Hughs misses with a head kick.
Wiet blocks a head kick by Hughs.
Hughs throws a series of strikes that have Wiet backpedaling.
Hughs misses with a low kick.

and Hughs counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Wiet is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Wiet seems to have recovered his senses.
Wiet tries a knee to the head but Hughs blocks it.

Hughs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wiet with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Wiet tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Hughs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hughs misses with a double jab.

and Wiet counters with a head kick.
Crunch! Hughs slams his shin into Wiet's torso.

and Wiet counters by moving into the clinch.
Wiet using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hughs has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Hughs manages to break the clinch.
Wiet takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Hughs tries to land a leg kick but Wiet saw it coming and moves away.
Wiet wants to clinch
and Hughs counters with a nice body kick.
Wiet looks gassed!
Look low, kick high! Hughs uses the oldest trick in the book to send Wiet tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Hughs is absolutely delighted - when Wiet wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
