The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuervo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
sparrow dodges the punch combination from Cuervo.
Cuervo looks to land a right hand but sparrow moved out of range.
sparrow showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cuervo.

Jose Cuervo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cuervo throws a shot from downtown. sparrow moves away and avoids it.
Cuervo tries to clinch there but sparrow circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cuervo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says sparrow as he avoids it easily.
Cuervo tries to clinch up but sparrow circles away and keeps his distance.
Cuervo throws a body punch but sparrow moves out of range.

sparrow drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

sparrow tries for a kimura but Cuervo is defending well.

sparrow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cuervo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

sparrow is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cuervo looks calm but he's in trouble here. sparrow gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cuervo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! sparrow lets go of the hold and Cuervo can pop his arm back in it's socket.
