Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike McLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). StPierre has chosen Headstrong as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
StPierre connects with a high kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McLeod.
StPierre shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McLeod as he avoids it easily.

StPierre gets caught flat footed, as McLeod shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
StPierre tries to land a sweep but no joy.
StPierre looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLeod has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of StPierre is proving hard to escape from.
McLeod is breathing heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike McLeod will probably get the nod.

StPierre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McLeod walks away with a smile on his face. StPierre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

McLeod tries to stall but StPierre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

McLeod tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but StPierre paws at him with a jab and circles away.
StPierre misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
StPierre shoots in for a double leg but McLeod sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
StPierre tries to clinch but McLeod is having none of it.
StPierre throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

McLeod clinches with his opponent.

StPierre stops a takedown attempt from McLeod.

StPierre escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
StPierre throws a sloppy head kick and McLeod moves out of range easily.

StPierre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

StPierre decides to stand back up. StPierre steps back and let's McLeod get back to his feet.

StPierre throws an overhand right that lands on McLeod's shoulder, as McLeod tries to avoid the shot.

McLeod gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

StPierre stands and throws McLeod's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McLeod tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but StPierre wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
StPierre lands a decent elbow from side control.
McLeod is not content to let StPierre control the position.
You can see the frustration on McLeod's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McLeod avoids any damage from the ground and pound of StPierre.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges StPierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

StPierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
StPierre wants to pass the guard but McLeod is defending well.
McLeod is refusing to be controlled, as StPierre sits in half guard.
McLeod is trying to maintain the position but StPierre is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
StPierre takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

StPierre stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
StPierre smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

McLeod wants to control but StPierre is keeping busy.

The fighters are battling for position here. McLeod manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
StPierre doesn't manage to clinch there - McLeod circles away.
McLeod changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. StPierre tries to avoid it but McLeod manages to keep hold of a leg and drag StPierre to the ground. StPierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

StPierre has closed the distance and engaged McLeod in a clinch.

McLeod is fighting off a takedown attempt but StPierre is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McLeod to the mat. McLeod regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McLeod is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McLeod not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

StPierre won't allow McLeod to get back to his feet.

StPierre gets to his feet - McLeod follows without any prompting.
McLeod has his takedown stuffed

and StPierre counters with a single leg into guard. McLeod didn't expect that.
StPierre wants to stand and escape but instead McLeod has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McLeod wants to control from the top but StPierre keeps moving.

Georges StPierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well StPierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
