The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petruzelli uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Couture.
Petruzelli tries to clinch up.
Petruzelli tries to close the distance and clinch but Couture swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Petruzelli misses with an attempted mid kick.

Petruzelli shoots in for a takedown but Couture shows good takedown defense.
Petruzelli throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Petruzelli tries to bum rush Couture with a series of wild strikes but Couture uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petruzelli slips a jab and a cross from Couture.

Couture feints and as Petruzelli raises his hands in defense, Couture changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Couture in particular looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
