Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Automatic Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Righty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasquel comes to the cage accompanied by Kung Fu Panda. Righty has chosen OCP by Gama Bomb as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Righty sprawls well initially but Vasquel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vasquel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Righty knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Righty gets full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Righty is trying to keep Vasquel in close.
Vasquel won't allow Righty to sweep him here.
Righty trying to keep a closed guard but Vasquel is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Righty throws some wild stikes that Vasquel manages to avoid easily.
Righty goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vasquel is on top in guard.

Vasquel tries to free his leg and advance position but Righty is retaining full guard.

Righty bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasquel's guard.

Righty has gone for a leg lock! Vasquel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Righty's guard.

Vasquel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Righty bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Righty drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vasquel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vasquel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vasquel!
Righty is trying to control Vasquel's posture but Vasquel avoids it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Vasquel takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Vasquel has a takedown stuffed.
Righty rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vasquel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Righty connects with a nice looking jab.
No luck for Vasquel with that takedown attempt.
Righty throws a hook but Vasquel blocks it.
Vasquel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Righty pinned against the cage. Righty gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Righty lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Righty throws a right hand that Vasquel ducks under and follows up with a left that Vasquel also avoids with ease.
Righty throws a looping overhand right but Vasquel ducks down to avoid it.
Mike Righty is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vasquel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vasquel showed some decent athleticism there.
Righty is not content to let Vasquel control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Righty is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vasquel pulls his head out easily.

Righty is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Vasquel gets his way!
